Pet Surgery in Bedford
Soft Tissue & Orthopedic Procedures
At Brown Trail Animal Hospital, we provide a variety of surgical services for our dog and cat patients and specialize in orthopedic surgery for bones and the surrounding muscles, and soft tissue surgery for both necessary and elective procedures.
We provide the following surgical services:
- Canine spay and neuter
- Feline spay and neuter
- Feline declaw
- Surgical services for acute trauma or injury
Our surgical procedures all require pre-anesthetic blood work to ensure that our patients are healthy and able to undergo surgery. We also utilize the results of our blood work to determine proper anesthesia. During your pet’s surgery, they will be monitored continually to ensure their safety.
Spays & Neuters
We recommend that all pets be spayed or neutered if they are not being used for breeding. Spaying and neutering is beneficial for your pet’s health as it eliminates the risk of certain cancers and unwanted behaviors.
If you are choosing to declaw your cat, we recommend having this procedure performed at a very early age, typically around three months old. The declaw procedure can be done at the same time that your cat is being spayed or neutered.
The Bedford veterinarians at Brown Trail Animal Hospital have experience performing a number of orthopedic procedures, including but not limited to:
- Repairing simple fractures
- Repairing loose kneecaps (patella luxations)
- Repairing ACL tears
Because all orthopedic cases are different, our veterinarians require consultations before making recommendations. Please schedule a visit with our team if you notice any limping, limb favoring, or indications of pain in your pet. Our veterinarians will be happy to examine your pet. We may also perform x-rays to help us fully diagnose the issue.
Soft Tissue Surgery
We provide a variety of soft tissue surgeries for our patients as well. Soft tissue surgeries are often needed to help us provide complete care for our patients.
Our team performs surgeries that address:
- Laceration repair
- Growth removal
- Mass removal
Our Guarantee to You
Our team takes surgical procedures very seriously and we are committed to providing complete care, before, during, and after your pet’s surgery. We will always explain the process, making our recommendations for your pet so that you will be educated on your options. If your pet’s needs exceed our capabilities, we are able to refer you to the Dallas Veterinary Surgery Center, if needed.
