Bedford Veterinary Internal Medicine

Comprehensive Care for Complicated Cases

As an American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accredited animal hospital, Brown Trail Animal Hospital offers internal medicine services to help diagnose and treat more complicated medical cases. Though our veterinarians are not specialists in any field, we are well educated and confident in many forms of internal medicine disorders. Internal medicine simply refers to the medicine of your pet’s insides. If we suspect that your pet has an illness that affects their internal organs, we can examine, diagnose, and treat your pet in-house at our clinic.

If you have questions about our internal medicine capabilities at Brown Trail Animal Hospital, call (817) 765-5331 or contact us online.

Comprehensive Exams & Diagnostics

Our Bedford veterinarians always conduct a comprehensive examination of your pet from nose to tail. We will also review your pet’s entire medical history and ask you questions about changes in your pet’s health. Part of the review of your pet’s medical history will include taking a look at your pet’s most recent diagnostic tests, which, though they may not have given us a clear answer to what’s afflicting your pet, may provide clues and additional information to guide our continued diagnosis. We will likely recommend additional testing such as more specific, in-depth blood analysis, or imaging to get a different look at your pet’s health.

Our Bedford veterinarians can help diagnose conditions such as:

  • Autoimmune disorders
  • Endocrine disorders
  • Gastrointestinal diseases
  • Infectious diseases
  • Kidney and bladder diseases
  • Liver diseases
  • Respiratory diseases

When we diagnose your pet us, we’ll use all of the tools at our disposal to hone in on your pet’s specific health condition. Many of the diseases or disorders listed above can be difficult to diagnose, but you can be assured that the team at Brown Trail Animal Hospital will do everything we can to ensure that your pet is getting the care and attention they need.

In some cases, after your pet has been diagnosed, our Bedford veterinarians may refer them to a specialist for additional care or to help manage your pet’s condition. All of the specialists that we recommend have been thoroughly vetted by our team so you know that you’ll be getting the same quality of care that you’re accustomed to receiving at Brown Trail Animal Hospital.

Comprehensive Care

Like our regular wellness exams, our internal medicine specialists will examine your pet from nose to tail. We will likely recommend additional testing, such as radiological imagine or electrocardiograms, to get a different look at your pet’s health.
