HOURS OF OPERATION
Brown Trail Animal Clinic was founded in 1973 by Dr. Fred A Palmer. Dr. Palmer graduated from Texas A&M University with an undergraduate degree in Wildlife Management. Following graduation, he served as an associate veterinarian in small animal practices in Arlington and Richardson, Texas.
In 1973, Dr. Palmer built a freestanding veterinary clinic, which was located approximately one mile south of the existing facility. Based on a foundation of sound business practice, progressive veterinary medicine, and excellent customer service, Dr. Palmer’s practice flourished and an expansion of facilities was soon necessary. In 1981, construction of the current facility was completed.
In 1993, Dr. Palmer offered Dr. Kirk D. Weicht the opportunity to purchase Brown Trail Animal Clinic. Dr. Weicht worked with Dr. Palmer as a pre-vet student, while in veterinary school, and as an associate veterinarian from 1983-1987. Dr. Weicht was privileged to follow in the footsteps of his friend, colleague and mentor to become the sole owner in 1994.
Following graduation from veterinary school in May 2000, Dr. Heather B. Campbell joined Brown Trail Animal Clinic. Dr. Campbell worked with Dr. Weicht while she was in veterinary school during Christmas and summer breaks.
Being blessed with a very loyal clientele, the practice continues to grow. The doctors and staff strive to provide high quality veterinary medicine while remembering the importance of the companion animal-human bond.
In 2002, the name was changed to Brown Trail Animal Hospital to more adequately reflect the purpose of the practice. And in January 2008, the long awaited remodeling of the building was completed providing more space and equipment to aid in better diagnosing, treating, and caring of our furry friends.
